The momentous The South African Institute of Agricultural Engineers and The Pan African Society for Agricultural Engineering International Symposium has come and gone, and it was a true spectacle! 🌍 The success of the International Symposium was a testament to the great strength and importance of Agricultural Engineering across not only South Africa, but also across the entire globe 🌍📢
The Symposium was held from 23 to 25 October 2024, in Grabouw in the Western Cape, where we many great, innovative and upcoming engineers and academics convened to showcase their phenomenal work and research. The spectacle provided a platform for discussions to be held around many relevant and engaging topics such as Agricultural Mechanization; Water Resource Management; Climate Change; Flood Estimation and Hydraulics; Farm Infrastructure and Logistics; Irrigation Design and Management; Renewable Energy; Appropriate Technology and many more! 🧑🏫👩🏫
It was an insightful, groundbreaking and celebratory gathering, which saw participation from various countries from around the world. It coincided with the Institute’s 60-year anniversary, which saw the event graced with the attendance of one of the Institute’s founding members and South Africa’s oldest Agricultural Engineer in Professor Gert Venter. Our International event was strongly attended by over one-hundred and twenty (120) delegates from various parts of the globe. 👏🌱
